Kennedy Wirachowsky

Kelowna massage – Registered Massage Therapist

Shoulder pain, rotator cuff injuries, headaches and motor vehicle accident recovery are common reasons people come to see Kennedy.

About Kennedy

Kennedy’s first experience with Massage Therapy was actually through word of mouth. While working as a community support worker he became friends with a registered massage therapist. As with a lot of people, Kennedy didn’t really think massage was helpful for more than just general relaxation. This changed when his friend began telling him stories of some of the people’s lives that he personally was able to affect. In particular Kennedy was surprised to hear of people on wait list for orthopedic surgeries who reconsidered the need for surgery after receiving massage therapy. Kennedy was amazed to hear about how many people still choose surgery before exploring other options. When his friend explained to him that a lot of people who choose surgery do so because they don’t even know that other options exist, Kennedy found his calling. It is now his goal to help people understand the benefits of massage and how it can be used to treat and prevent many common problems, even those for which surgery is often recommended.

Kennedy attended the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in Vernon after learning of its international reputation for being a world class school. While in school he had the opportunity to work with some clients who were on the wait list for shoulder surgeries. He was able to help these individuals to the extent that they were able to reconsider surgery as the only option. He now spends much of his time working on shoulder and neck problems.

Graduated from Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy 2700 hour program in 2014

At Kelowna Medical Massage we value the opinion of Medical Doctors and Surgeons. We believe that Doctors don’t always recommend massage partly because a lot of Doctors don’t fully understand the training needed to become an RMT in BC (It takes less than 500 hours in some provinces, in BC it is around 2700 hours to become an RMT). We recommend massage as a cost effective alternative to pursue along with surgical options. Most orthopedic surgeries have a year or more wait list, we encourage people to use this time to try alternatives such as Massage Therapy.
